We have fss tundra to sow ,can anyone advise me what soil conditions beans can cope with at sowing or should we wait until spring.

Harvesting em is the trick.

I once drilled some wizard in mid April, cut them on bonfire night, the feckers wouldn't die.
This is the exact question I needed answered. Not looking like getting my Wizard in this autumn now and as I only have a jd 750 it’ll probably be April before the land is able to go.
I am a lot further South than you but don’t really want to combine after the end of September.

Years ago when all I had was a combi drill, I used to spin them on and plough them in, my trouble was I always over did the seed rate, it was always late and wet so had high rate because, wet, one for the crow, as they eat them while I’m ploughing, etc etc, they always ended up being too thick, point is, they went in wet and always seem to grow well, too well!

This is my backup plan for the beans this year. If they won’t drill we might get them ploughed in.
