Northern Ireland Milk Price Tracker

I wouldn't look at the men starting up yet, give them five years and the novelty might've wore off a lot of them. To me men that are spending 5k a cow just to get started milking cows, will have a sudden reality check at the current prices. Money is easier spent than earned , always was and will be, but at 24.5p ish in Jan its not much craic at those debt levels.

I have few friends who have switched too milk. More than happy too work at 25pence compared too sucklers they where at. Got switched too milk reasonably cheaply only thing.

@The Agrarian ,sorry about losing cows.
Just wondering was it cows or young stock? You keep cows in all year . You don’t have diet feeder for badgers to go hoking in tmr. You would think you should be avoiding TB.

Was out tonight, so have only just had a chance to have a quick look at the screen to think about those cows. Two of them have not been out this season. The other two both calved within days of each other in July, and would probably have been out together at that time, though I don't recall it.

The other two are heifers due for serving. One had a 60mm lump. One of the cows had a mid forties lump. Haven't seen that before. Think the others were like 16 22 sort of readings. With severe interpretation, there are no IRs.

The countryside is riddled with it. A neighbour lost his whole milking herd of 200 cows a couple of years ago, though a zero grazer was 'suspected' as being involved.

We're doing an above ground store at the minute, marketing department has a time lapse video thingy running, at least that's what they told us ?
we have some of your panels to install. Where is the best position to put the mastic to seal them? On the tongue or lower lip or both?

We always seal on the lower lip and surface if it's a silo wall. Sheds normally only get sealed if the customer asks for it, usually on the surface. Put sealer around the lifting sockets before you set the next on top as I have seen damp coming in at that point.
