Rightly or wrongly Im taking first batch of stores I bought for £50 back in early autumn in on Monday, its the Christmas Show.

All suffolk cross that are all 44kg plus up to 47kg.

Just had grass and been on a new grass clover ley for the last 5 weeks so well finished.

Time will tell but going on yesterdays store trade they should be OK.

Next lambing time, you’ll be checking new born lambs hoping it’s a tup lamb!
It has crossed my mind! Should really just grade the lower half of gimmers.Keep thinking we should never sell lambs in sept/oct cos they always lift but like to save grass for tupping, get them away onto a dairy farm end of oct.

Could never understand why people get excited about selling breeders. The faff involved and extra keep us never worth it unless you are in the very top price brackets.

Its just selling the bluefaced leicesters where we can gain a bit and on one day in September 700 lambs are sold and leave the farm clearing the decks which is worth a bit....but , yes you sometimes do wonder!

It’s the fact you can shift virtually half your lamb crop in early September leaving grass for feeding the wethers. Otherwise you would need to sell everything store which is a gamble most years

And there was me thinking that none of them get any food other than grass, they just come straight off the poor land at the bottom of the hill and that funny colour they go is the natural peaty ground. I hear some people clip their heads and put bits of coloured wool in them, trouble is you are all frightened to stop doing it as you are convinced the one with the best head makes the highest price. Mule EBV's have always been a mystery to me!

Mind you the Luck money must make a difference especially to the price of the BFL Tups!!
