The Dangers of Soya

Very interesting article, I didn't realize soy could be that bad. I wonder if that's why I didn't see much about soy as a substitute when I was researching diabetes diets. My research included a lot of sites that weren't the Official Diabetes Websites.

Her article does state that the ancient Chinese used it to feed cattle but matbe research should be done on how much is safe.

I wonder if Clive is going to keep his Soya intake to once
a week for health and enviromental reasons like his
concerns about his red meat consumption!

Been saying similar to this for ages. Does anyone know how credible the author is?
This doesn’t necessarily need to go onto farming programmes, but to mainstream ones. What’s the betting it gets used to persuade people not to eat meat that may have been fed soya though! :banghead:

I read a very interesting study a few years ago about the incidence of asthma around a big port in Turkey where they off-loaded millions of tonnes of soya per year. If I can find it again I will post it. Basically the dust that arose from the handling of the product was causing asthma rates to rocket.

Do we need soya ?
We should be growing more proteins here.
Yes food will be dearer but is that a bad thing?

I don't go on the forum facebook page much but if this isn't on there can someone put it on so that we can share it?

Yes, if that blog is accurate it’s wants spreading far and wide.

Perhaps some farming organisation should get some independent testing and verification along with some peer reviews done to give it some weight.

Someone should send it to Farming Today and The Food Programme. The NFU maybe.

Makes you wonder if it should be fed to stock in the volumes it is ?
I read a lot of homeopathy books when I first went Organic & basically if you want healthy stock feed them grass , feeding any cereals has a detrimental effect.
Cows on higher forage based systems live longer & healthier.
The same homeopathy books said human health sufferers to with higher cereal intake & studies show a increase in heart problems as cultures adopt vegetable oils for cooking! Not something Nestle & Unilever want you to know about.
