New Nissan Navara

I see you can get a brand new face lifted top of the range Nissan Navara N Gaurd with 5 years /100,000 mile warranty for just £21500. The face lift includes upgraded rear suspension, bigger brakes with disks on the rear, new seats, new manual gear box, better mpg. Sunfoof etc.

Is this the best value pickup on the market at the moment?

I am thinking of upgrading in the next few months, and always buy second hand. But this has really got me thinking! Reviews on line all seem good too.

I bought a 19 plate as a pre few months back, I really like it, it was the best value truck I could find, and it was the highest spec.

The only negative is the fuel consumption as it's no where near what they declare, but I suppose they're all like that, so I don't know if that's changed with the facelift, I thought they'd only made cosmetic changes.

That's ashame about the mpg, I do alot of miles so good fuel consumption is very important too me. They have changed gear ratios to improve mpg, i read instead of doing 2000rpm at 60 mph it now sits at 1500rpm.

Is yours an auto?

Get almost 35 average out of my 68 plate auto, and I don’t hang about. Im happy with that.

As per OP, I would agree, best value in my mind. Test drove a few, Navara and VW were best imo, but the VW is in another price bracket

No manual, it's doing about 20mpg, but usually towing, and only short distances, I hear of people getting a lot more miles, but I don't know if they're working it from the tank or the computer.

Do you do much towing? I might get them to have a look at it. It's been consistently bad since I got it. It's using the same as other trucks I've had, it just gets me that we have adblue and dpfs, but it still uses the same about of diesel as a 20 year old truck.

My v6 does about 26mpg, I think it might be worth getting it checked out.

No, not really, only about 15% of my millage is towing, and towing does hit the MPG hard, especially if fully laden.

An average of 20 does seem particularly bad though, but if its all at the max GTW and loads of hills, short journeys, then I can see how it’s possible. Towing for me is usually mid 20’s on average.

Whats is noticeable though it the increase in adblue usage when towing.

It hasn't used a lot of adblue, I've got a bit left in a 25ltr drum, I think it's done 4500 miles now.

Had my new spec Navara since 9th september, Brilliant truck, the previous one was carp.Best I ever got out of it was 26 mpg, that was working it out by miles and gallons used, the clock used to read 9 milles too much. New one averaging 33 mpg.36 on longer journey, gearbox (manual) is far superior on new one, brakes actualy slow you up too, seats more comfortable, Ride more choppy though. Hated my previous one. Love new one.

Thats at least a 1/3 more as I would normally use, almost twice as much. Youre either working it very hard or you have an issue.

When you get the opportunity i would take it on a good unladen run, 100 miles or so. You should get at least 30mpg even if driven relatively enthusiastically. Reset the trip computer and do a pump to pump test to be sure. Any less and i would go and see your dealer.

The NP300 is generally considered by most to be one of the better pickups when it comes to fuel consumption.
