eBay Scams

never dealt with him but the likes is there all right
He looks ok at a quick glance has plenty of feedback selling related stuff google the number and it all appears to come Back to same eBay account but golden rule would be go and see what you’re interested in before handing over cash if you can as just because someone is genuine it doesn’t mean what they are selling is any good

Bought a new Samsung mobile phone last week [competitively priced] paid via Pay Pal. Problem, it does not recognise my sim card, both phone and sim are on EE. So I contacted the seller who within minutes cancelled my payment and has said nothing about having the phone back...:scratchhead: Any ideas on getting the phone to work..?

Most shopping centers have a stall with a big sign saying phones unlocked while you wait ,find one of them

Ref the above. Turns out it was a illegal 'blacklisted' phone. Apparently they are part of stolen consignments or insurance claim 'lost phones'. They are electronically switched off and can only be reconnected by the original registered owner. Many appear to be on sale... Bought another phone and all ok, but only after checking the IMEI 15 digit code first. Rather like checking HPI on a car.

Got an email yesterday, reportedly acting on behalf of eBay and PayPal, they had concerns about a seller I had browsed. Googled and deleted before opening seems he was a fisherman'!
Forum down yesterday so sorry no Name now to post here now but BEWARE.
