Merc 366? Likely run to 20k hours.. doubt the deutz will. Both 50k odd ? What is good and bad with the TRAC?
Deutz would be better engine, I had a 366 in an mb1300 rebuilt at 5000 hours by Reeds. Very troublesome the doppstats were according to Reeds, lots of trouble with electric hydraulics, they kept offering me a demo but I steered clear.

Very unusual for a Merc to fail at low hours I'd say, especially in an application 100hp less than than they are capable of. My 3 Merc engines are at 16k 17k and 18k hours, look pretty original to me. Worn but just plod on.. What went wrong with your 366? The 2 fendt engines here have been a nightmare, but the way fendt fit them in the tractor is half the problem. Just a disaster to work on.. The 4 speed Powershift zf used in the dopp should be similar to the fendt boxes in the 90s.. how did it go so wrong?
