So this forum is full of international members poking our noses out here and there. Sometimes there's even questions from the UK about Canada which people are generally kind enough to tag me in because I'm worse than awful for seeing them myself

The last couple of years I've done a Day a Month thread with photos and weather info. I started to struggle with actually taking the photos consistently though... so instead of doing that I'll give this a shot. I'll still try and post monthly weather summaries because those are easy to do whenever I get time to sit at a computer and don't require the slowness of me doing photos.

Plus it lets me see how things have been! Like this summary of 2018 and 2019.

While variety is the spice of life and I can't really predict what will happen for me to chat about, it'll probably span things like China banning our Canola, cattle stuff, arable issues of seeding, harvest, quality, etc. Since I work in the grain industry there will probably more of that with less actual equipment from the farmers perspective because field work can be So. Damn. Boring. :dead: Who knows, maybe there'll be a random Speak Canadian post every now and then with those Canuck words you just have no clue about!

Yesterday was a beauty of a day, sun shining, blue skies, crop all tucked in that got left in the field. Or this hemp that's just standing there hating life...

Alas this is the calm before the cold. Set to hit the deep freeze next week. Currently predicting wind chills towards -40 so we'll see. Time to get my toques all out!

On a coach ride which included Montreal , Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara Falls last September I saw mile upon mile of maize. Is this for animal feed silage, digested or will it have ripened to harvest the grain?. Not the kind of information the otherwise excellent tour guide was equipped to provide!

I’m not super familiar with the crops out east. I believe they do put up quite a bit of corn for the grain as there are horror stories of tough corn in bins from out there this year. What the grain is for I couldn’t say. Could be biofuel, could be feed.

Other fields could be for silage or winter grazing. Especially if it was sorghum.
