They are the gift that keeps on giving

I have to marvel at there fantastic continuous winter wheat yields

similar to our spring barley last year

if we didn't have them then we wouldn't have this thread and world is such a better place because of them

Every one bashing triton is jealous of their success because they’ve found the holy grail of yields in all conditions. ? they will be the first drill company to drill at 50k in a 40k tractor. [emoji13][emoji85]

All joking aside while crude and simple it does work

Marketing just needs corners rounding off
A crude and simple drilling idea, yes. What we dont get to see is the actual crops that grow following on from the numerous examples of pretty crappy drilling conditions.
As a bonus, comparing it to a plough/combidrill or another direct drill might put things into perspective.
I have used a farm built drill similar to the tryiton for drilling beans for a number of years with great success ....but i have also had some poor crops when drilling in crappy conditions (2012 and 2019). Lesson learned.

I’m short 40% on planned winter acerage
500mm of rain since 20th meant all but lightest land was too wet
The 60% drilled is good
The soil structure from the dry summer in 2018 is still there
I’ve replaced WW with SW and we can grow very good crops of spring barley so nothing has changed as normally 50:50 winter spring
Planning decent acres of spring beans and oats to maximise breaks for next autumn
Just because you can go in wet doesn’t mean you should
I would rather look at full spring crop than mediocre winter crop
I can understand forcing your hand on a winter cropping farm, a drill that allows you to do this can save your bacon
Last year it never stopped raining in autumn
Normally you get a start or middle or the end
Other amino acids are available

Why always drill in the worst possible conditions? Is it bragging rights? With a drill capable of hundreds of acres a day you must farm a veritable prairie!!

I'm sorry RJH but a Triton drill is no excuse for poor farming. Mauling a winter crop in when you are going to screw up the soil structure, then spraying herbicides when it is far too wet so you end up with leaching.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
