Could your pto be running at too much angle when you pick the drill up? On our t7 you can set it up so that the pto knocks out when you lift it above a certain percentage of your lift height.

I've been told there's a fix you can buy from NH, it's a boss of some sort you slide on and tighten up. I'm not sure if this replaces the circlip or is in addition but it should cure it.

We had the same issue on a Tm after it had been on a slurry stirrer. The shaft was out of balance and vibrated the clip out once and it always did it after that. Our quick fix was cut a chain link and slide this over the prongs of the circlip, this held the circlip out tight and a piece of rubber just to stop the chain link coming off. We had planned to buy the boss I mentioned above but It never gave issue afterwards.

Lemon tube pto is the work of the devil I think.

We’ve had a stack of nh tractors with the circlip system and I’ve never had a problem. I know that doesn’t count for bugger all but one machine did a stack of power Harrow work. Another always on a baler or mowers.
They all run star shaft.

This is happening on a rotavator with a star shaft, only 1yr old, shaft seems fine.
Looked at the boss/bolt on circlip replacement but dealer was looking £150 for it. It still sits on the same groove as the circlip and if that groove is worn it’ll still pop out.
Tractors away in to replace the PTO sleeve in the back end :/

Any more updates on this before I phone dealer? Had stub pull out twice on a puma with the combi, decided it must be the pto tube and was going to replace it. Today it pulled out twice on a big square baler which is not good as the flywheel at 1000rpm keeps the shaft spinning. Then got clip and shaft from the t7 (exactly the same) which hasn't seen much pto work and clip was very strong so thought it would sort it but it pulled out a third time. Will swap tractors tomorrow but it needs something sorting

Have a strange problem.... Been drilling today with T7.270 an combi, got to the end of the run picked up the drill an the pto stub popped out.. Got out had a look and it had snapped one of the little legs on the retaining circlip an split the o-ring seal. So shot back to farm got the clip an o-ring out of the t7.210 put that in fine. Started drilling end of the run lift drill pulls stub out again.... Grrrr annoying! No damage this time, wiped stub refitted of i go again, blow me end of run does it again and the same on next run, getting grumpy now!! Pto on powerharrow slides fine, circlip fits tight the grove it sits in is clean, can't pull stub out by hand.... Gave up! Put drill with same stub an circlip on the 2.10 worked fine. Any ideas? An no i'm not leaving it on the 210.... Its gutless!

Did you get something sorted?

Have you lubricated the pto shaft it might be locking up under load and when you lift it pulls out the pto shaft.................................................

Yes cleaned and used some graphite grease. It's perfect on the t7 but pulls stub out on puma. New circlip new o-ring and tried the t7 stub in puma also with no luck. It also did it on the baler while ago

Hi get the retainer kit got 2 fitted on a tm 155 and a t7.210 they are not cheep but do work they can’t come out as you bolt a hardend Collor in the grove had one on the t7 for at least 4 years no problem
The only thing that you may need to have the pto stub machined as some of the newer ones are slightly different shape where the collor fits tm ones should be ok if it’s original

Where did you get them from? My local NH and case dealers don't seem to know about the collors. The stubs are original puma 2012 and t7 2016 and both the same as each other

Does the pto shaft slide further in when on the puma (ie shorter link arms) therefore more contact area to slide out as it lifts under load?

No it's the same unless it's a few mm difference. The stub shouldn't pull out tho unless there's a fault or massive resistance? I know there's always resistance under load, we have a trailed straw chopper on a pin and drawbar in a towing eye and when you turn it off it often rolls back an inch as it wasn't on the pin
It's a fairly long shaft, I could cut it down so there is less contact area but it's not really solving the problem and iv always liked to keep shafts quite long to future proof other tractors and for strength

Edit. When I say long I mean it's a good 3/4 overlapped at its shortest

Had this on our TM155 with Kuhn PH on, as you say it did it several times in a row. New circlip didn't help, dealer said it was either strip back end down and fit new hub, as it is the groove that the circlip sits in that wears, or buy a kit from them, can't remember the name of it, but your dealer will as this is a common occurrence apparently. It uses three wedges that lock in using three allen studs in each. This locks the stub in and works absolutely fine, it just takes 15 minutes to change between 540 and 1000 ends, which is fine if you don't need to very often.
If anyone knows where I can get these I would be very grateful, similar issues to OP on Combi with TM 155 had the new hub done on mine and now it's fine but the other tractor is playing up. Brand new shaft. Oops, ignore that answer is in the thread.

The dealer above. Just spoke to them. I'm going to price parts to do it properly first as it's not a big job to get into it just depends on parts. The collar looks ok in a picture but not cheap
