read/hear all these high prices, for lambs and ewes, it wasn't very long ago that sheep trade was going to be totally f##ked when we leave the EU, but my query is, who can afford to eat lamb/mutton, there is not that much high value meat on a carcass, take off back legs, best chops, not much left. If household debt, is as high, as statistics say, a joint of lamb, is a very expensive meal ! But good luck to you sheep boys, a very useful addition to your pockets !
The prime beef trade, is down, but cull cows are holding, housewife wanting cheaper mince, rather than joints, doesn't quite seem to add up.
Has price went up in supermarkets/shops?
Normally doesn't which shows how much margin they have.
Normally discuss wholesale lamb prices with chap at local Indian, but haven't been in for a while.
