Covid 19.. Milk price impact?

I don't get it. Why do some MP's need to use Vet Services? Is it just the ones that have a bit of farming on the side? And do they have to record this on "Members Interests"? Or is it another expenses fiddle, like a duck house?
You are obviously a decent and honourable person, maybe a bit naive. ?
If you had a depraved mind like some of us you’d know exactly what I meant.???

My tanker driver (Arla) had a co-driver with him today that he was obviously training up - the co-driver was dressed head to foot in camouflage! Very strange, and I didn’t go near them to query it (social distancing etc)

Now I don’t want to start rumours, and this may be complete bollox, but are we seeing military personnel being trained to take up milk collections if the need arose? Either that or today’s trainee driver must have a serious military or shooting fetish to be dressed head to foot in camo!
Maybe there as security incase anybody tried to high jack him

20pd's yesterday. All positive but two to recheck as the calves too young to be certain. I think someone has misplaced a single day's AI paper.
18 not seen bulling. That's cows more than 42 days since calving with no recorded fertility activity. Caught four various cysts and two slight whites. Less than fifty days and cycling were left alone. Most others treated with Estrumate. Two with receptal and PRID for fixed time service.

What's that got to do with covid19 affecting the milk price? :scratchhead: ;)

good news always needed, gets us away from the doom and gloom, of corona, which we all need. Because of corvid, nothing else, news wise, is happening, so no let up from. But life will go on, corvid will disappear into history, we hope, and we can start putting the world back together again. There should be some serious lessons learnt, re carbon, food supply, etc, will they be ? The worst of the money grabbing barstewards, couldn't give a damn, as long as they don't catch it, they will keep worshipping their money god.

Roddas are not making cream everything is being bottled with some going to crediton for uht.
If they are selling semi skimmed then they will have cream.
The cream market has fallen off the cliff. - No "premium "caterers, No ice cream makers. etc etc. Often said cream is worth 2 - 3p on the milk price. As mentioned on another thread talk of 2p price reduction

So there's such a big demand for liquid milk that cream makers have gone full throttle on it. Yet this means ex farm prices may full because there's no demand for the cream that isn't being made?

Will you all please, please please, stop believing the rubbish that the processors tell you?

just remember, the s/mkts are highly efficient businesses, but, are completely ruthless, in the search for a greater return for shareholders, and bonuses. You can bet that there are bean counters frantically working out how they can turn this disaster to their advantage, it is the top management that will decide to do the morally right move, or the f##k you, we want the money. Not a nice thought.
On a much lighter note, as I have to use 2 sticks to get around, I have the ideal 2 metre distance, if I can hit you with my sticks, you are to bloody close !

Just telling you what is happening in our business. We are not a big operationbut the patterns across the industry are similar.
If you have had anything to do with butchery you will know the butcher has to sell the forequarter at the same speed as the hindquarter to maximise returns. The cream job is the same principle

Don’t think it’s the super markets dropping lines it’s more likely about maximising throughput in the factories. I think supermarkets were selling 60% of the food to the nation now its more like 90%.
I know Crediton are flat out at the minute.

Why cant freshways do the UHT sticks or small foil topped milk in 100's bulk into supermarkets to keep up with demand.

Are all the imported lines still coming in? Like Arla Skry or Yazoo or Yoplaits?

Cream can be made into butter and frozen. That's why Muller put a butter plant in at Market Drayton as soon as they took over Wisemans-"adding value" to the surplus
