We fairly regularly get phishing letters from developers, but this is a completely new angle on land purchasing. Maybe it’s not illegal but slightly dubious, based in Ireland and only recently been set up.
Hi I sold 20 acres of paddocks to them in April. Completed quickly keep, getting letters though which is annoying.
They’re asking to by land for conservation, it’s clearly not.....more likely for tin roof trailer park. That’s deception! We've had a letter as well. How would they obtain land by deception?
If they don't pay up then they don't get the land, or am I being naive?
Perhaps its for a 'caravan park'
Easy enough to build in an Overage clause on any land sold....
And how exactly do you enforce that on Mr Pat Murphy of unknown abode? Or indeed a company registered in Panama? The law is of no use against people who have zero respect for it.
Be interested to know if they want to acquire SSSI landThey have dropped the newcastle supporter on my letter, dated May. Just got the hedgehog.

A neighbour of ours sold her bungalow and land with overage, it was purchased by travellers. The list is endless what they did with the land and nothing was ever enforced. However it was eventually sold with huge house and she never did see her overage paymentEasy enough to build in an Overage clause on any land sold....
