Unusually cold this week. Another frost this morning, so at least 3 this week now.

Have T2 on wheat to do, T1 on SB and some beans to tidy up. All mixes containing a herbicide.
Anybody not applying with such low night temps?

I've been spraying T1 + herb on spring barley this last couple of days. I'm concerned about the frosts but it needed doing and probably wont look any worse than my nieghbour who have torched there barley by spraying in the scorching heat last weekend.

Regarding wheat t2,with a dry fortnight ahead of us I'm tempted to go ctl maybe with a sniff of teb before 20th and save the sdhi for a head and shoulders if needed later on instead of going sdhi and ctl in the next day or two.

There's very little disease except maybe a little rust and if it stays dry then disease wont be too much of a issue lack of moisture will be the limiting factor.

As always my program will be based on pressure, potential and weather forecasts

so far wheat has had ctl and Teb ....... given dry and cold since this was probably a waste of money already but was correct decision on the day

I was more concerned about the SB and herbicide with these frosts about. Its not urgent-urgent. Decided not to be doing at mo, supposedly a little warmer next week. Also have some Foxtrot to go on, on the other - more backward - half of the SB.

Wheat should be hardy enough to withstand a splash of Starane?

CTL and tedious Mg and K will go on in the next few days.
Elatus era prothio will follow as ears emerge.

If last year (identical recent weather here) is anything to go by crops are not as clean as they look. The cold might be slowing stuff up but it is not killing it, as Fromebridge and others have pointed out.

It Will rain, just not till ear emergence... we need blizzards of two different yield robbing midge to complete this ++++show of a season!

JFDI. The wheat will wax up pretty quickly. Beware of big multiple mixes including herbicides and trace elements. Temperatures are due to rise over the weekend and will be pretty hot next week in the opposite extreme to this week.

T2s going on here. Ascra, CTL and magnesium. Will do some Gleam with the same + Topik & oil for volunteer oats when the frost risk has receded a bit tomorrow. Spring barley T1 to follow after the wheat which includes some beefy broad leafed weed herbicides so will be avoiding less than ideal spraying conditions.

Probably old fashioned but with the weather as it is wouldn’t an Amistar/Epoxi type mix do the job or do we still need more ?
Already had t0-Teb t1-ctl/prothioconazole/boscalid

variety Zyatt and desperate for water but decent crops

Similar position here.

Never used liquid K before but had a suggestion for it this year.

How do you find it?

I've heard of reduced water rates.....but I didn't realise some people were doing that because they were making up the balance with chemical. ;)

Just trying to save a pass. I should probably do one of the herbicides and trace elements separately really.
