Stripping down power harrow gearbox to see what bits are all needed, pinion shaft splines stripped, 2 bearings gone ( going to replace all 6 ), all the seals and gaskits not going to be cheap that’s for sure [emoji57]

Did a job I’ve been meaning to do for a while. This building which is the first thing you see when you pull in, had a Scabby old tin door on it, which was bashed, and the top flap didn’t even match the bottom. So made a new top flap, and all nice new matching tin.

couple of jobs left to do, paint the pillar it hangs on dark green to match, and make a new sneck as we used to just chain it shut. Looks way way nicer now. First impressions and all that. :)

Washed the hayturner for the first time in 6 years as it needs new tyres and the birds have been using it for a toilet all winter in the shed.

Got the new mower on the tractor to test it out - change gearbox round to 540 and shorten pto shaft, just in case I want to go and mow a field.

tried out the rake on a bit where we are about to seed some bird cover.

Thre was a lot of grass cover in places but not at this end, very pleased with the rake though.

You irrigate the soy to get it to germinate? I've got some in but it's sitting doing nothing at the moment, so this chap has no work to do:

He's on the boundary in the "unusual legume" field with soy in front and lentils behind. The lentils are growing, albeit slowly.

If he has no work to do I'd furlough him if I were you!

@Steevo - he's a good worker when needed. He turns up, and sticks about for as long as he's required - I wouldn't want to lose someone like that.

Exactly what the furlough scheme is designed for - I wouldn't want him to lose his job due to there being no work for him at the moment. Only issue is under the rules of the scheme you'd need to furlough him for 3 weeks minimum....how's the forecast looking?

Actually you may be onto something... He'll get 80% of...

Thing is, I've got 2 other scarecrows. One's asleep in the shed, and the other one turns up but doesn't work very hard. I can't help feeling this could get complicated.
