Axial pro and su

I've sprayed my spring barley with a su (finish SX or answer SX) in the last few days and now i have a rec to spray axial pro for wild oats. I've been told i need to keep the rates up as the su will effect how it works. How long a gap is best for least crop damage, how long before the rate can be dropped and what is cut off growth stage for axial pro. Thanks

I am not an agronomist

but generally preferred mixed or accase first (7 days)
Hormone is 28 day gap- I’d assume similar for SU.

I can't remember which way around it is. I used to leave 7 days and that is for a crop that is growing strongly.

I was told axial after was 3 weeks by my agronomist and that’s what I have left it. Axial will go on this week.

Axial first was a week to the broad lead spray

Again only what I was told no warranty given to these claims

It is 21 days with the axial first or 7 days with the SU or something along those lines- don't rely on my memory though as I'm out of date.

In theory you would treat the BLWs first to get them out of the way to hit the oats but I would treat whatever was most pressing- obviously a reduced dose of axial on smaller oats would save a lot of cash.

Largely the same restrictions apply. Oskar can be harder on the crop.

Axial Pro label;

Nothing on the label about SUs but there used to be for the older Axial. Nothing on the label for Finish SX either.

The cut off for Axial Pro is GS41 which is just before the boots start to swell & the flag leaf sheath extends. You really don't want to get Axial on the ear, theoretically speaking, as you'd already be past the legal cut off.

Really, you want to try and leave it as long a gap as possible but don't get Axial on the ear. Don't even think about dropping the dose rate for Axial either - the weeds are getting bigger too.

Oskar has a cut off of GS31 - if the crop isn't at that stage yet I'd say he had bigger problems than this!
