It would be but I’m told they are a dead tractor, probably because of there weight v’s hp, haven’t got a fendt price yet but i think it will be the same if not a little cheaper and fendt also seem to offering very good warranty packages at the minute, have a fendt 516 coming tomorrow evening on demo so we will go from there

If it's like my 516 you will need a good warranty, but then even that isn't much use if the dealer can't/won't fix the faults

The 516 is the perfect size and power for what I need, but has been a very poor ownership experience, to the point where I will take a lot of persuading to have another.

Seen on farmflix!

Contractor hoyle something running a fleet of 145r's remapped 185-195hp!

They were getting worked hard and ran to high hours. Looked ideal pocket rockets.
do not think i would like the world to know I had fleet of remapped tractors think the warranty may be a problem for Nick, but i know that dealer does a lot of remapping.

What was the advantage of this? Is the 145 a 4 cylinder machine and smaller etc?
I don't think it's physically smaller/lighter than a 155r. 155 is largest in that chassis, then it goes to 175r which is bigger.I don't know much about john Deeres anymore though.

The advantage is you have nearly 200hp in a smaller lightweight unit. Compared to a 6195r.

Laoisfarmer I went through that exercise in Jan 2019. 516 profiplus with weighcell loader, FL, Front PTO, guidance autosteere etc. Basically fully loaded tractor but ended up with JD6145 with all the same features but 6cyl. A few things I hated about Fendt swung it for me but they were minor points specific to me like having to remember to apply the handbrake, the position of the key to start the tractor and the pickup hitch. There was €10k in the diff but had no bearing on my decision. I bought the 145 in 19 and traded it again for another 145 in Jan this year and am very happy. I felt the 516 would struggle weight wise with a Fusion with 2 wet bales in it on hilly ground or pulling a 13 ton digger on steep hills. My experience of having had a 2018 4cyl MF 6615s dynaVt rated at 150hp before boost also pushed me twords 6cyl over 4. Someone on here said “there’s no replacement for displacement” and boy do I agree with that. You would also want to consider in Ireland the resale of the Fendt as the market is limited and if you change brand god forbid, the depreciation could be frightening as most people think rightly or wrongly of Vario replacement costs. Just my view and opinion but it’s based on experience.
Why did you change the 145 so soon ?

Iirc the 145 has smaller front hubs or diff than the 155. It's been a few years since the salesman told me that and that I could have it with whatever horse power I wanted

I have a 6145r and a 55r and they are identical in every way except software. Sputnik, I got a good deal to change as dealership we’re looking to sell a few extra units. I think weight wise with 900kg weights they are circa 9 tons.

So started the thread I suppose I better finish it !!! As we are all John Deere we kept with them, when it came down to the deal the jd was €10000 cheaper with more spec on the autosteer side, we already run jd autosteer and section control so it was also easier for setup. Only 30 hrs up but has done some road work and mixing slurry and happy so far. It is a little sluggish but I’m hoping once it gets some work under its belt it’ll open up, it took the 6175r about 200hrs to open up.

When did you price the two if you don’t mind me asking? I priced in September and Deere were way out compared to a higher spec fendt and that was trading a Deere in

@Clive has been telling you that for years:ROFLMAO:

But seriously, they just charge whatever they feel like on the day, discounts and deals can be all over the place, did you buy the Fendt then?

Priced and ordered in September, I had brief conversations in may and June about prices also but they were to high so I didn’t follow up, I had an option of a two year old jd with 1000 hrs and similar spec and my jd sales man knew that so he gave me a price and I gave him a price for what I wanted to buy at nearly expecting him not to accept but he did. It was a straight deal so that might have helped , also not sure would I get a deal like it again, maybe the fendt demo also helped !!
