Website for total rainfall

If you subscribe to the Netweather rain radar service (costs about £25/yr) you get rainfall accumulation maps for up to the last 24 hours, which is pretty useful. They offer a free rain radar service but the accumulation data is only available to subscribers.

There is also a page that details the monthly rainfall (and other data) so far for a whole list of the Met Office recording sites:

Its a bit hit and miss, some months the data for some locations is missing for some reason, but it does give you an idea of the cumulative monthly rainfall for different parts of the country.

Personally I use Rhiza’s contour software, but again this is part of a subscription service.

is yours giving yield predictions this year ? ours doesn’t seem to be ........ maybe they are so low it can’t measure them this time !
Yes, we’ve been getting them since about gs 36? Can’t remember exactly when they start, but they have increased steadily since the rain arrived?. Also getting predictions for spring barley this year so will be interesting to see how close they are.

full of hobby home £30 stations set up badly i. the shadow of a house or tree in a small back garden etc

i would take the numbers with a pinch of salt !
That can be said for any weather station.

One a mile up the road could catch a thunder shower and nothing at home.

Use them for an average .

The last 12 months to end of April we have had average rainfall. The facts is was over average for 6 months and under for 6 doesn't matter, its average ?

your missing my point I think ?

many cheap “Maplin“ weather stations on networks like Wunderland are bought by people who can not possibly locate them correctly in a small garden with building a tree shadow etc I would a,so question the accuracy of £30 hardware having run such a station the past it was not accurate at all

the only data worth using from Wunderland is the pro stations as @Brisel suggests like airports etc

a Sencrop or other more professional grade stuff is not likely to be bought by such a users given its much higher price tag so will be set up in a bigger space most likely

I agree though rain is very local, we have several Sencrop and yesterday they measured as much as 12 mmm Difference in just a few hours .............. if you want accurate data you need your own station that’s for sure, next best if to tight to buy one is find the closest Sencrop on the app !

There’s one of them within 1/2 mile but it doesn’t seem to list total rainfall for some reason? I find it extremely busy and messy full of adverts.

looking at my map there your closest “public” Sencrop is Tycross or our hammerwich one, both a bit far away really

if you want good data fir your own location buy one, they are not silly money and very good bits of kit

Twycross recorded 46mm yesterday. Our two rain gauges recorded 17 and 18mm respectively and twycross as the crow flies is only 3 miles away as the crow flies so it’s very localised. We are only on 38mm since April where as they are on nearly 80mm

only way to get your own accurate data is to install a station - the sencrop is very good and not crazy money

Just out of interest what does it achieve unless you do it yourself.

I know it's nice to know but even by measuring it you gain no advantage?

same with most data - it’s interesting but getting value from it is another thing ! - helps our records be accurate re assurance recording of application weather I guess

the only tangibles we do get from live stations on different farms is we can often avoid a wasted trip spraying, harvesting or drilling due to wind or rain when we get there. or sometimes the other way around when it’s too windy at home we see it’s calm elsewhere

amazing how over just 30 miles radius of our home farm conditions can vary

How much is a Sencrop weather station with weblink? Davis Vantage Vue is circa £600 with live link for viewing remotely and the Vantage Pro2 around £1300 for the same package.
