No one wife enough for me also.Your a brave man, one wife is enough for me!! ?
How much are store lambs back at kivells atm , ? can see grass a bit short ,made some think a bit , but recent rain must have helped , I can see fat price getting better when europe opens properly so wouldnt be in any hurry yet . But those on ad lib creep going to have a few tough choices , not much margin in low 80s for fed lambs .The problem with Sedge store lamb sales is that they are now on Friday afternoons and that means you don't have all the buyers there as many of them are at Exeter in the morn!
And Sedge for some unknown reason have now decided to keep all store/ cull sales on Friday afternoon for the foreseeable future which I think will backfire price wise before long!
And the above when the 2 meter rule is being reduced in July.
They should set up a ring like they have done with the calves ( which works very well ) and put the sheep thru that like other markets are now doing!

Good to hear , report isnt up yet on site or FB , New buyer or Stillmans had a big order lolSteady on chap!
Sedge had a flyer of a spring lamb trade today, SQQ 218.14ppk (UP 19.8ppk on the week )
Exeter had a much poorer trade for spring lambs, back a good £5 head on sedge today, Exeter SQQ was 206.3ppk ( up ONLY 6.6ppk on the week ) and not only that but Exeter had 25% less lambs in this week compared to 20% less lambs at Sedge..

Would TE not just head back to Sedgemoor after Friday morning in Exeter. Or is there not enough time difference between the two sales? Not sure how much they are back year on year at Exeter but they had a very strong trade on Friday, esp for the long keep lambs, nothing less than £54 and most of these £57/8 head, way too much for them, they need to be sub £50 but they have all the store cattle buyers there and people like TE which of course Sedge wont get on a Friday!
On the lamb price, March/ April born spring lambs will start coming out thick and fast in 2/4 weeks time after this rain, if the prime price stays where it is for the next 2/3 months will be about it, unless numbers really dry up the price could actually drop a shade more yet over those 2/3 months!
Sorry to hear that. Having seen them unload when I parked next to you they should have been worth a good bit more than mine.yeah and not happy.

too big time difference i expect , sedge kicks off at 4pm fridays . I know a few store buyers that would be there after cattle on the sat and a few lambs , and they wont make 2 trips at least till main season kicks offWould TE not just head back to Sedgemoor after Friday morning in Exeter. i suppose the last few months would have been mostly store hoggs ie not quite finished bigger lean lambs that could end up for ethnic consumption , same buyers that would be down for cull ewes , now we are getting into genuine store farmer lambs for next winter not such a good idea as they wouldnt have enough weight to appeal to them . needs to change to sats now as you saidBy the time they buy at Exeter and get home with them it will be gone 2pm, then they have to have lunch, do all the daily jobs etc, they are not going to go to both Exeter and Sedge on the same day just to go back to Sedge on a Sat to buy cattle!
Sedge store sheep sales need to be on a Sat, why they cant do this but still will be able to hold breeding sales of sheep on a Sat is a complete mystery!
