Being looking at knight and team Sprayers trailed sprayers around 3000l and 24m, wanting to keep it British, thoughts and opinions on these two

Chafer look a good sprayer but the weight is putting me off them

There are number of really good uk manufacturers and a lot depends on the level of technology you want to incorporate and also where in the world you are as relative to decent dealers or the manufacturer themselves. But here a few in no particular order

Chafer
Knight
Landquip
Team
GMR

I've run Chafer trailed sprayers for 26yrs now. Simple, strong, capable of a lot of work (over half my workload is in potatoes.

My 4000/24 Guardian is the best so far, particularly re stability and weight transfer. Think about where weight is, not just weight perse.

When we bought this, I considered others. My shortlist was Chafer, Knight & Landquip. Team probably the best of the rest. Past experience mostly led me towards chafer, but the stainless tank a big draw. I like Knight as a company, but prefer a centrifrugal pump and stainless tank over a fibreglass/diaphragm set up. Landquip has an excellent Alloy boom, and an enthusiastic team, but they were expensive, and lacked the resale demand and values of the Chafer. Well done choosing british, whichever way your preference takes you.

We bought a 4 yr old chafer privately direct from a farm. Just had it valued by the trade and it’s only lost £5000 for 6 seasons work. All we’ve done to it is reseal the pump and new sets of nozzles.
