Nobody wants billy basic anymore though. We all want fingertip controls and comfort, with the advance in tech naturally things become more daunting, yet much nicer to use when you know how.
I agree for main drivers but for seasonal work/workers or weekenders basic kit is better. Its got to the stage where if you do not renew tractors every 6-8yrs you cant drive the new stuff. I witnessed one farmer jumping into a parked fendt when varios first came out and he failed to move it. It wont be long before drivers arent able to plough/mow etc in a straight line without auto guidance, the craftsmanship of choosing the correct headland to start from is being lost.

After jumping from tractors to trucks around 2007, I've barely driven a tractor.
I bet I'd struggle to get the fancy ones to move now and as for all the screens, buttons and GPS I'd be hopeless.
I used to think I was fairly good on a tractor but if I went back to them now it would probably be like learning to walk all over again :(
