Faulty nozzles

I bought some Guardian Air 04 nozzles couple of months back
Last night I went to roundup some barley. The first time I’ve used them
Set off spraying and noticed pressure off the scale at 12 km/h
Even at 10km/h pressure is 7 bar
Nozzles don’t appear to be blocked but there is a variation in output when jug tested some are 50% lower
Swooped some nozzles on to a different body and they still read low when jug tested
But spray pattern appears good
I spun the nozzle body around and used Defy 04 and rate was spot on
All the filters are clean and nozzles clearly have 04 printed on them
Any one had this problem

Yep but a few years ago... that's similar experience to what I had , rates all over the shop , mainly just low...with a set, in the end so fed up, they got chucked across the workshop floor, even now still finding the odd one when I sweep up :D:cautious:

It’s a good job you FA arable farmers do the job properly, jug testing before you go spraying, especially with a new set of nozzles on...🤐
I've done more nozzle outputs than you've had hot dinners I expect ...😇

As soon as even one chemical is added flow rates alter anyway, no one ever mentions that .

No need to mention it when most modern sprayer controllers would work on flow rather than pressure?

Your jug tests, as recorded for NROSO, would surely highlight differences across the boom, caused by a dodgy set of nozzles?

Iirc it blockages that drove me nuts as much as anything, Axial + adjuvant enough to turn me off them quite well.
Too long ago now to worry about.

i used lechler id ceramic tip air inclusion nozzles. never had to replace one for being worn despite being used on suspension trace elements etc.. maybe they cost a bit more but definatly worth it.
