How does that compare to other brands price? Been told that a krone mounted is alot heavier which would be alot more strain on tractor linkage system
No idea we wouldn't have anything else. There's been too many problems with others in the area and they've all changed to claas now .
A contractor mate of mine did 25000 acres with a set of claas butterflies and only put wearing metal on he did do a conditioner bearing but that was due to getting a lump of wire caught up and it popped it out the casing.
My first claas probably cut 7/8000 acre and the same just skids and blades it traded in for decent enough money and went to your side of the water to start a new life . So no point looking at other makes.
I dunno how they've done it it's a strong mower but doesn't feel heavy on a tractor

Al mabe try get a very fresh used 1 if that was available. At those acres it would do the rest of my days if looked after and dry housed
First few years I had mine I was doing up to 1000 a yr but things changed and I'll only be doing 300 at most now so this one will last a while
So would you recommend a krone trailed? I take it you’ve got one by looking at your profile pic. Are they heavy enough to jack knife on steep ground? Also does it spread grass full width? My old Kuhn 250g used to be a pleasure in every aspect of cutting

Yep it jack knife u on steep ground. They ar a heavy mower but I find they cut the best of any. All new mowers should do full width now and probly have spreader vanes as standard for all makes.
I would buy another krone above all other makes and I have baled after kv and jd alot.

I'd take a kuhn fc302 over a jd 1365 any day. I've a kv 4332 and it follows the ground so well. Hasn't given any bother that wasn't caused by foreign objects. Drawbar is longer but not an issue and leaves a nice row or can spread full width. Would like to try a centre pull.

KV 4032 was a good mower as long as grass isn't flat. I used to have one and one place we used to cut at always had very flat grass and the stubble left behind was very long regardless of how many alterations were made. I put it down to the round discs and the deep profile of the bed.
Went to Kuhn FC302G which was much better on flatter grass, but was harder to power than the KV.
I now have a 1365 and it's much easier to power than the Kuhn with the benefit of having the same bed.

The Kuhn or JD will definitely shave it bare, they'll take soil and all if you want but they won't follow the ground or float over rocks as well as the Kverneland Taarup. Loads of people say there's nothing like a JD 1365 and 1360 but I just never liked any of the 4 I've used.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I’m waiting for a price on a new Krone 2801. It’s not going to be I know cheap. Krone seemed to have such good reviews both mounted and trailed.
Tralied are nearly extinct in my neck of the woods these days... mainly because of the price I guess but know a few contractors who are keen to go back to trailed. Can’t see the problem with cutting the corners of the field especially with a gyro headstock and yes the swaths are much even throughout in my opinion compared to a mounted mchale..... biggest pile of shite ever made with that samasz bed in my opinion

Properly set up the 1360 and 65 are incredibly good at following ground contours. If they are just hooked on and not checked for bed angle and weight then the job may not be as good.

I can't say I've noticed if I'm honest.
I just set the springs to the to the recommended weight when they are new and have found all 3 makes to be ok for floating, in fact apart from the flat grass issue referred to before everything else about the KV, JD and Kuhn has been very good IMO.

You think they're good until you use something better. The last 1365 I used was regularly checked for bed angle and weight because the owner liked a longer stubble left at home than his customers wanted, but it still wasn't the best mower I've used. I'll be happy if I never see another JD mower.
