Silage 2020

Started to take off some excess grass. Will be baling it Wednesday. Weather not playing along here in South Africa with constant on and off rains. Not complaining about the rain and have a few days of nice weather now.

we always ask contractor, 'permission to cut', this time the answer was no, not baling grass, until straw caught up with ! Trouble is, ideal stage, and would quite like another cut !!!! Been short of grass all summer, growing like crazy now.
It's a challenge, we have straw to bale, silage to bale and grass seeds to get in.

Rain today meant some thumb twiddling...and watching others on Snapchat cutting/tedding/baling in the rain!

I do stay loyal to my contractor but if he can’t come he just says if you need it doing have a ring around. Because he is good, he is busy, I understand that and he understands things need doing too.
Contractors get busy, I have had 2 where they have messed me around and cost me in silage quality, switched both out for more reliable on the ball operators and has meant silage quality is remarkably better!

Red is slowly fading out.
Can't remember tbh
Have to have a dig through records, been in 4 years?
It's looking good for 4 years! Got told red only lasts for 2-3 but can stretch to 4. To me that looks like it will stretch to a 5th? It's not very popular around me for some reason, I cant actually think of anyone other than us who has any!
