I think the term is that gluten should be "present, elastic and of a satisfactory colour". But I've never heard anyone actually define what they mean. I once learnt how Chopin alveograph and zeleny tests worked but have never seen them used in the UK.

Not that I was aware of, had Don & Zon, bushel, hagberg and protein done. The load in question was below spec in hagberg 180 but they were also on about gluten being low. It was a Friday and by all accounts the mill can be interesting.

Is there any mention of gluten in your contract with the merchant?

Seems milling premiums in free fall due to mills etc clubbing together buying farther land wheat before brexit , them bar stewards , why do we bother , thanks to all involved , hope germans hold it back

Of course, they will have very tight contracts with the likes of Tesco, and need to absolutely guarantee that they can supply. What would you do, sat watching UK wheat fast losing quality sat in the field, and knowing that many samples nearly a month ago now were showing low protein, if you were them?

No, it's fair enough. It's not like there is enough UK supply. But they would be the first crying to mummy the minute we got close to similar market power. Expect they don't want the tarrif after December!

Well as someone told me this morning frontier wouldnt offering hardly any premium over feed yes I am a little p1ssed off !!
