The IH / Case Thread

I think Gapples is the man for this.
I have found that my tractors with the 1920 rpm ptos have faster hydraulics than those with 2140 or 2220 rpm ptos, I guess because their pumps are running faster, with the exception of the 4230 which is a bit faster than the others.
I would imagine you would start by putting some clocks on a spool and see what you get in terms of flow and pressure.
The power steering should have full pressure at tickover though.

Right, For all International Fans and Enthusiasts.
I have a International 454 Hydro Tractor. According to Rory Day, the Editor of Classic Tractor there were only 42 of this model sold in the UK. They were sold over a 3 year period 71/73. Mine is a genuine tractor sold by Achurch and Sons to Messrs Naylors, Mkt Rasen new on 26th March 1973. We bought it as a used Tractor, again from Achurch and Sons , Horncastle on 2nd of April 1977. It has been in the family ever since. I have a small flail on it which I use to maintain the verges and conservation areas with. It is certainly restorable as I have the doors, Pickup hitch and Hook lift arms saved.
It is to be offered for sale on 17th of October by Robert Bell and Company at Auction near Horncastle. According to Mr Day, if 50% are still about we will be lucky! Has anyone got another? It is 47 years old and still being used! It has never been more than 30 miles away from the Original dealership!!

I don't own any IH tractors but I did work at main IH dealer from 1976-80 and I remember a lot that went on even after all these years !!

an R plate making it 1976-77
The 474 was replaced by the Perkins
