Ocupational hazard im affraid, is she very bad? I have seen some get better if they are left in a quiet patch and left alone.
I remember doing one on a farm before my first season in NZ cruched about 4500 over there no problem, first week back went to cruch on same farm again and did another one. FFS sods law.

Know the feeling . Have done the same couple of times over the years. You don’t even realise you have nicked it until they are Walking out to field. Sometimes just a pin hole at the tendon enough to sever it.
Only downside of using a clamp to dag them

Your not the only one thats done that mate, im in the same club , its a sick feeling when it happens and it happens so fast. Ewes seem fine in the combi clamp but gimmer lambs tend to fidget all the time and so easy done. But since ive used the turnover ive not done oneView attachment 907310

Aye the ewe lambs were a bit more wild in the gripper than the fat lambs I trimmed last couple weeks. I'm guessing she kicked out or wriggled at the wrong moment... clippers are never usually near the legs. I'm more surprised I didn't know I had done it, though.

Happens to us all at some point, but doesn't make it any easier

Prices seemed alright on the FB report, but not got prices emailed yet - tag numbers but no invoice. I got £82 for at least 1 Cheviot mule, but not sure about the other 11 ewes or the 11 lambs.

Hope they made a bit, Cheviot tups weren't easy to buy at Lockerbie today.

Had Lleyn rams on the farm for 15 years... been breeding 'pure' for roughly 10 years

Only just sold my first Lleyn cast ewes yesterday :ROFLMAO:
They were OK, bit of flesh but not fat. Should've maybe pushed them on more but they'd have taken a lot of feed, so just punted them. Averaged £64. Happy enough with that

next you’ll be telling us none of them died 😜🙈. Heading for the air raid shelter As I type 🤣

It's been an expensive old week! First it was the new bike on Wednesday...

IMG_20200918_170300.jpg

Then 2 lorry loads of straw yesterday

IMG_20200918_141101.jpg

Then 16, 10ft gang slats (quads) today. Had to meet the artic at a neighbours farm 7:30 this morning. Lorry was hot off the 6am ferry from Ireland

IMG_20200918_122352.jpg

Then Alligator yard add ons were sitting in the shed when I got home with the slats

IMG_20200918_131801~2.jpg

But Allflex/Cox/Alligator did kindly send me a nice thank you present through Royal Mail, which arrived today lunch time, for all the business I've done with them. 150 free slaughter tags. It isn't much, in the grand scheme of things - but it is a nice, personal touch and shows a bit of gratitude for my custom and that goes a long way. A lot of other companies could do to take note

Brother mowed the 2nd cut silage on Monday. We've turned it once, each day since. Raked up and baled it this afternoon. 18acres giving 98 bales. Actually very happy with that, should have enough to get us through winter now

Certainly easier to spent it than Earn it.
Things like the the quad and the hurdles that make life nicer/easier do make you think your making progress though.
Nice to see you bought Ali hurdles in the end. What’s the two plates next to the backing gate.

I would've bought the steel ones but I've been waiting since January on him getting them back in stock. Life is too short for that.

The 2 plates are 'adaptor plates' and come with the non return gate so that you can attach it to the end of the Alligator race. They aren't what I imagined really, but we will see how I get on with them.

I have another 2, 18" spreaders ordered. They were supposed to come in this bundle but they're coming next week for some reason...

Theres 15 new hurdles to take it from 21 up to 36. Maximum the trailer can carry is 40, so its now basically the biggest yard you can buy
