This subject is freaking me out slightly.

Last night we went for an outdoor socially distanced drink at our friends place down the road and the first drink of the night was brought out,a shot of the this.

Never had anything with mulberry in that I can remember.......actually the later part of last night is a bit foggy.

And cycling home from hedge to hedge.o_O

In an Australian environment, the other thing about a mulberry is they are a great shade tree during the summer
That’s a pretty important function here, especially in a house garden
In an English environment keeping the shade on the house is generally a bad thing. Keeping it warm and dry is much more important, that's why mine had to go. Plus the fact there is what looks to me like a root shaped bulge over the whole of the living room floor.

Err, we just pick the fruit & eat it fresh

or bake it in pies

or make jam out of it

but mainly, just eat it off the tree
Pies...

Australians eat meat pies, true sweet pies are an enigma there.

It made me sad every time I’d see a “Fresh Pie” sign and go racing in, only to find 639845 types of meat pie and not one dessert option. I had to make my own and completely from scratch as it was almost impossible to even find pie filling!

Really it’s a deprived country.

Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush” is often sung as part of a children's game. According to historian R. S. Duncan, a former governor of England's Wakefield Prison, the song originated with that 420-year-old institution's female prisoners, who were exercised around a mulberry tree.Oct 28, 2015
We used to sing this at play (nursery) school

All we seem to be growing is more animals 🤔

the only animals I have are two useless dogs, 2 old chooks & 6 guinea fowl - none of which are very productive 😁
The ( existing ) plants here are much more productive. Finally got veggie garden beds organised, so hopefully that will get going soon.
Already got seedling tomatoes, pumpkins ( including some “giant” pumpkins just for fun ), watermelons & rockmelons ready for transplanting now the frost risk is over

Watch out for the tomatoes. They might take over!
