Hi All
Drilled some wheat and barley into lovely seed beds but dry
Would you wait now and spray after the rain say Friday or carry on if it’s only light showers ?

My gut feeling is with really dry top to get the soil damp then bang on in a couple of days

Using trooper/herold

cheers

What black grass levels
if it is dry dry then the bg will not germinate till rain to wait till it rains the spray straight after
if the wheat will not geminate with out rain then if it looks dry roll again if there is not enough rain this week

It all depends on your workload, how urgent it is to drill more land, or what other things you may need to do after it rains- although without knowing all your circumstances, it is probably a little early for lots of wheat and barley drilling.

Unless you are expecting an absolute deluge any residual chemical sprayed now will remain in the soil for several weeks to months, so if you know light-moderate rain is expected it doesn't matter if you spray now or afterwards. Most residual chems will work best before germination or emergence of the weeds from the soil, so if you wait until after rain, you may need to do it quickly.
