Countryside Productivity Grant Scheme - final round (England)

40% OF Standard cost is the max they pay.

In theory, if you get quoted less than standard cost you want to make an agreement with the supplier to bill you more and discount something else from them.
But in reality it never happens like that. These Grant's just push prices up!
Their own example shows the grant available for 40% of a £7500 standard cost, it then says if you are able to buy said item for £7000, they still pay the grant on 40% of standard cost, no need to get the dealer to do anything.

I get annoyed by these grant schemes, they only benefit you if you aren’t already investing/updating your business. Most of the items that have been on the list (arable sector) since the scheme was launched I’ve already bought 5-10 years ago! Can the claim not be back dated 😂.

Yeah, that's how I interpreted it, but it's worded badly, it says "to connect to a gps" not to a screen controller and dome and activation you all ready own. Clowns.
There’s a lot of bad wording in the descriptions, I’d like to know who they asked about what farmers want! It would have been much better to broaden the items and asses on a case by case situation.

Personally I’m just going to price the rate controller on its own as it will probably work out a lot cheaper than getting the grantand having to buy the rest of the system which I’ve already got!

I done mine 10 years ago, no activation just a 1800, and a itc, was told the dome is being turned off and my screen is so old don't activate it now, so are looking at over £8K and because the steering wheel eliminate is less the 3k I wuold some tat or other to make it up. So no use this time round. 🙁

You mean we all don't need a digital weather station at £2687.

Does anyone know if you can buy the same item two years in a row? We have a couple of prattleys, one purchased on round two of the scheme and an older one we’d like to upgrade just now. Thanks

Quite fancy a thermal imager for poacher catching! could this be claimed as needed to monitor hot spots in grain?
You don't need to quote a reason!
Get one, they're fantastic for grain, electronics, spotting hot bearings early, etc.
I bought a Flir E5-XT, but check by email whether it's allowed beforehand as the specs are hard to interpret correctly.
Wait until black friday to buy it, last year the ~£600 the grant gives you came extremely close to the discounted cost of the camera.

Your not the only one
@Clive thinks those that have equipment under this scheme are Laggards, ie a person that makes slow progress and falls behind others!
