Any recommendations for pull on work boots.(non steel toe caps) Usually buy Buckles but find they are too slack round the ankle. are red backs or blund stone any better.

Redbacks are OK but I don't think the soles last like they used to and none of them offer much ankle support. You really need a pair of lace up boots for that

Just got some Rossi boots, usually have red backs, so far I prefer the Rossi, soles are harder and look like they might wear better, the boots seem a bit higher, I always felt the red backs were a bit too low around my ankles.
I am the opposite just changed to Rossi about 7 weeks in. Really do not like the harder sole,think that is best bit of redbacks like having pillows for your feet. Changed as last two pairs stitching has gone around elastic ankle strips after a year, used to get 2 years out of a pair at least. I used to have bucklers before changing must be over 10 years ago now but dont think much difference in tightness around the ankle between brands.

Hogg Artemis look a decent boot. I bought Oliver ATS on the recommendation on here. They have been a brilliant boot, comfiest I have ever worn. However they are coming to the end of their life I'll have them a year this month.

Don’t buy red backs I feel they have lost the quality they once had sole delaminates of the boot takes me about 6 months for this to happen .

If you want the ease of elastic sided boots & the security of laces, I suggest you look at zip side boots. There are heaps of people making them & lots of different safety & non safety styles ( we have very large mining / construction & agricultural industries here ) but I can personally recommend Oliver, Blundstone & Mongrel
I haven’t worn a pair of elastic sided work boots for over 20 years.
In fact, many work sites now don’t allow elastic sided boots as “safety” boots, even if they are steel toed
The zip sided boots are actually easier to put on & off & I wear them like slipppers at times, unzipped, if I’m just going in & out of the house

That’s what I’m after. Done a bit of research. Blundstone don’t sell zip boots in uk. Redback sell one called the cobar but it’s out of stock and not sure when it coming into uk price is £140. found a new pair bundstone 319 on eBay from Australia £75 includes deliver. Will take a punt at them
