Blood sucking ahdb

I really don’t understand your thinking north of the border ,we have had a lot of sheep farmers giving us a lot of encouragement and yet you seem to want us to fail ,Scottish potato growers seem to think they cannot manage without the ahdb, this morning best Scottish whites were making £1-50 a bag not a good price 30 years ago.We are on course at the moment (and we are not taking anything for granted) to have double the number to force a ballot by the end of next week.

How come the ahdb have enough reserves to pay staff for a year to sit at home, there is a considerable amount of levy payers unable or refusing to pay ,l thought the levy was for research how come it hasn’t been used up.

Why 4 course haven’t you being getting the information from them before, we are also getting a lot of propaganda from the ahdb, so called town hall meetings telling us what a great organisation they are, it’s as if someone pressed the panic button.

I get most of the combinable bumph from hgca some of which is of interest , some is behind the time , even allowing for a bit of over egging this snippet has helped my decision not to sell wheat in store atm

Fair comment, not being a cereal farmer myself I hope the ahdb continue, the problem we have is the vast sums we pay for little benefit.

Scottish spud growers are a law to themselves.

I dont know who is incharge of the up and coming ballot ,is it the ahdb or the ghost of Robert mugabe, they now intend to exclude over 300 levy payers who paid an unbelievably amount of hard earned cash into their coffers over the last 12 years. This situation as come about after 18 months of lousy weather and 8 months of this lousy virus, these levy payers just cannot afford to pay, but the ahdb have now come up with a plan to extract the money out of growers, if you pay £50 they will allow you to vote but there’s always a but you have to sign up to a repayment plan .Without doubt around here a lot of bedding plant and ornamental growers will struggle to come back from this let alone pour more money into this quango.Well somebody who will not have to worry where the next penny is coming from is Jane king , after 6 years of not doing very much and only putting in a few hours a week she is now stepping down ,in this time she as had a £ 1,000,000 out of farmers and growers plus company cars free health care plus god knows what else, but probably most of all will be her pension pot which I suspect must have had greedy boards fitted to stop it spilling over.

We might have found it easier to stomach if they had been doing a decent job,but instead of coming out and saying we have given levy payers 110% they come out and say we need to improve and there is room improvement, stroll on what has the woman been doing for 6 years not a lot by the sound of it. In the 6 years they have taken £170,000 off me alone and I am nowhere near the biggest contributor, there is no other word for it than it is absolutely scandalous.

I am not talking about the AHDB as a whole I am sure that plenty that work for them do a good job for not a huge amount of money.
I am talking about the overpaid gravy train parasites at the top of this and other organisations, allot of them are the same just a bunch of greedy buggers

I'm glad you said that. Knowing what my friend puts into her job at AHDB, I have found much of this quite hard to read.
