Are hunt and followers exempt from all laws?

Earlier I saw upwards of 30 horses and riders riding through local village followed by at least 15 quad bikes with 2 on each not one wearing crash helmet some had number plates some had boxes carrying terriers also hounds running across fields so it's a case of the upper class can do what they like

Think the list of people who can do what they like is seemingly long and it isn't just limited to the upper class, not that hunting is an upper class thing and in our area certainly not happening at the moment.

There are a number of people in the UK that are above the laws of the land. Hunts are just one of them.

1. it is not a legal requirement to wear a helmet on a quad, and I still haven’t met anyone that does.

2. why do you think they belonged to an ‘upper class’, especially given your location?
I would hazard a guess that most of the people on quads would have been local farmers, as well as a fair number of those on horseback.

@startinghandle is in Wales, where we have just come out of lockdown.

Shoots are going too, for Welsh guns, but there were plenty out from over the nearby border here today!

each quad and what about carrying terriers which are used for going down runs

How do you know what the dogs were being carried for? I regularly have three dogs sat behind me on mine.

so no lock down so hunting can continue.

terrierS are still allowed, assuming that what they were there for.

not quite sure what your post has achieved other than to make you look like a tit.

granted, if Wales was still in lockdown then it’s appalling, but as they aren’t, nothing here is wrong.

Hmmmm..........I think the " spirit " in Wales is, if you don't really need to meet folks outside your own bubble don't do it. IMO hunts shouldn't be meeting. I suppose it is outside......but......

perhaps but if groups of 30 are aloud out then they are allowed out

Hunt was still going on here under tier 3 in Lancashire.

Check the Hunting Act. The use of a terrier below ground is exempt hunting and perfectly legal.
