I'm not going to fuel a fire !The straw burners do that!Go on you tease, share with us, ball park figure if you prefer.
From my supplier I'm hearing that a few large dealers have been paying stupid money for straw to let the market keep rising knowing they have loads stored away from harvest .
Anyone with anything to sell sees headline price and wants X amount ex farm .Not very helpful to livestock farmers or anyone to tbo!
Anyway got on phone and saved £30 t! Fortunately!

Most recent price is £10 for a toilet roll, don't now how much straw is saved by wiping there bums though!

Its basically flawed then as no dealer will ever openly admit to what hes buying and sell for .
are dealers the only ones that buy or sell straw or fodder ?

Thats bo!!ocks nipped into village shop for milk and they'd got pack of 24 loo rolls reduced from £9.50 to £6 apparently suppliers been talking price up saying it will be short but there's warehouses full of the stuff and now they're having to discount it to shift it, top quality stuff it was too

No but farmers who buy the odd load often pay a lot more so distorting the avarage on farm price as a guide. If its a guide your after. if you used £100 ex farm midlands Eastern Counties you would not be far off . And flush the auction prices down the loo as irrelevant
That's not really what I was thinking, you say that dealers won't put prices on here but they buy from farmers and they sell to farmers and those farmers can and do put prices on here, It takes two to make a deal
