Well What s the temp outside atm ?
but I bet they're all inside as well, them sheep.....
Only minus two or so. -19 was the coldest so far.
The rams, 10 older ewes and 40 hoggs are inside since probably a fortnight ago, rest are outside. brought the ewes in on Wednesday night as it was potentially going to be pretty harsh wind with some snow and the holes haven’t filled with drift yet, but it came to nothing so they were turfed back out the next morning.
Not started to feed the ones outside yet, maybe this week as there’s more snow coming.
they come in for tupping around Christmas and then back out till may, then they come in get shorn a few weeks before laming and stay in till their lambs are a week or ten days old, or longer if it’s snowing.
Only get haylage, access to a salt lick and a shot of wormer.
they’ve got around a thousand acres per ewe to scrape about on.

Hebridean have pretty good fleeces, good milk, great mothers, seen them walk into a field and head straight for docks to feed on, good crossed with a blackie (are you allowed to say that now?) you can train them to an electric fence, but they have no respect for inferior standard fences or poor netting fences.
Great characters. Actually a fun sheep to have.
