Brexit Will Make Us Rich

That is genuinely pathetic! (If even true). No wonder we farmers have a reputation of being miserable, mean old gits who begrudge even sharing air with others free of charge. I would change 'ace' to a**e'
It is entirely true. They messed up my click and collect with missing pizza and garlic bread and when I got home my 'mature cheddar' was orange. Clearly not cheddar but packed and labelled as mature cheddar. How did nobody notice this from the packers, the shippers to the shelf stackers? It was immediately obvious to me. It got eaten and I don't mind it but it's fairly ridiculous that something can be packed as something it is clearly and visibly not and end up on the shelf. I think I took a photo. Will see if I can find it.

the payment is part of the profit 🤷‍♂️
You know why agricultural support came about?
Btw - it happened in the uk too indépendant of the eu

And it will continue in the UK independently, it may become more biased towards environmental schemes, but if you think the CAP won't become more about the environment then you may be in for a surprise.

I like the environment, don’t you?

Absolutely if they want me to plant the whole thing in trees and pay me to do it I'm quite happy to, the brown envelope is always the easiest to come by. As an auld boy told me years ago, it's not much use if you have to leave the coat off to make a living.
I doubt that Brexit will make me rich, but I have gathered enough up during our EU membership to keep me going until retirement:rolleyes:

I get all the stuff about taking back control, sovereignty, etc. What puzzles me is if you just hand control over to Westminster, some of whom are more distant from farming than those in Brussels or are influenced by some of the biggest landowners (ie. charities) and supermarkets, what gain have we made.
We either have to earn the same but be more in control of our business or if we are to be told what to do then we have to be better off financially.
Anything else is pointless but I fear we will be less in control and worse off due to 'free' trade with the world.

If you think you can do a better job than your MP, get yourself voted in.
Your voice in parliament will now mean something.
We now have a chance to shake up the whole system for better and drag it into the 21st century.
Of course.
There's always the option of sitting on the side and whingeing.

Cheers for the advice. I am not whingeing but recognise the limitations of democracy. I know an ex MP of many years and if you think the average backbenchers can make a difference then you are mistaken. Party line or a visit from the whips or deselected bat next election.
Boris has little clue as to the practicalities and we will all make the best of it in spite of the politicians

A surprising number of farmers voted to leave the EU on the promise of less red tape.
What be first to go? Assurance, traceability, slurry spreading all year round, spray and antibiotic recording?

If it all went tomorrow, how much could you produce and how much extra money?
If I removed all of it tomorrow, how much more money would you make?

Rules and regulations are increasing for everyone so Ag's not alone.

If you removed all of them tomorrow you'd perhaps make more money for a while but very quickly everyone would be having a go and upping capacity.
Everything else would go up and the buyers would start reducing the price they pay. Farmers compete against each other just like other similar businesses do.

In or out, rules or no rules, it all balances out.

We'll get a better class of politicians as they'll actually have to do something.

I agree the question looked easy as there were only 2 possible answers but if the reasons were hazy then why not just toss a coin? I like the idea of autonomy but whatever way you voted there must have been something ticking away inside to make that choice, even if it was just a gut feeling that we didn't want foreigners interfering with our lives.
