Do ye lads let your employees ect take your tractors out for tractor runs if they ask you?

thoughts?
I used to but not anymore ,you don't know where they have been and young lads are like dogs great on their own but put a few lads together and you wouldn know what harm they get up to ,and coming back on an empty tank as well, no thanks

Well I like them. But I do wonder when I see 100 + elderly tractors in convoy without much distance between them with passengers in transport boxes and makeshift trailers about the elf n safety angle. Hence my question about insurance.

We have cancelled our Christmas one this year due to Covid. It has become a very well attended annual event and attracts a lot of interest from local public We have had a lot of comments how disappointed but understanding people are With having to postpone this years event . And by people I mean spectators of our local town who in the main are getting further away from agricultural ways. We attract over 100 tractor, forbid any trailers or link boxes for passengers etc.
Oh, and manage to raise over £2,500 for the May children’s festival

The 9th Livingstone Christmas Tractor Run will be different this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic with prospective supporters asked to take a photo or video of their tractor and submit it while making a donation.

This famous Tractor Run, one of the largest in Ireland, has previously seen hundreds of tractors in attendance and raised £463,000 for local charities, including Southern Area Hospice, Air Ambulance NI and NI Children’s Hospice.

Last year over 730 tractors attended,

That's one from Northern Ireland I think in this case its a worthwhile cause think Grassmen have a YouTube video about it as well.

tractor runs, to me a bus mans day out, i try to attend at least two per year (pre covid) ,i find the smaller ones max 40 tractors the best, i agree that they can annoy joe public, but a sign and even collection buckets telling people that its in aid of cancer research or here in rural Herefordshire , St Michaels Hospice ,goes a long way to placate annoyed people, not many people who have not lost someone to this dreadful disease, it also shows farmers in a good light as they allow the run to cross fields/farm tracks, both giving participants splendid views and keeping the convoy off main roads, even young farmers clubs have organised some !! this moves the goalposts as the younger generation bring out their newest shiny tractor,as opposed to the older generation on their fordson major, ih 275,mf 135 etc, one run even had a Turner yeoman of England tractor, so to the sceptical posters above, please think of the charities that these runs help !!
