A Big Cheese Making Kit is an easy way to start. They are all soft cheeses but it's very satisfying and the recipes work. https://www.bigcheesemakingkit.com/Does anyone make their own cheese? Thinking of having a crack
On this grey and dull day I can't help but say I find this thread quite inspiring. Maybe we should make another thread so people can showcase their direct sales/milk bar/vending machine or farm shop enterprises?

Having spoken to both our previous and now current DHIs about pasteurisation, both advised (for a batch pasteuriser) to take the pipe out of the bulk tank and pump the milk straight out of the parlour and into the pasteuriser, obviously turning the plate cooler off too. Silly to use energy cooling the milk to then use more to heat it back up.In the ideal situation where is best to divert milk in the dairy for pasteurizing.? Divert after milk sock filter or let it go straight to bulk tank and then transfer somehow to pasteurizer?
Small volumes so a batch pasteurizer is the call of the day. Just trying to suss out how to direct
Lot to be said for Keeping it simpleView attachment 926789thats the sum total of our pipe work to the pasteuriser, I was it with 2 jugs of water and very little chemical
