Price better hold , can't touch my hoggs till end of this month.
Is cattle price rising too?
Dont know about fat but store cattle were 8
We were on £3.76 last week but not spoke to anyone since.wondered if it was up this week.
The way store cattle were selling in Ludlow today I'm guessing the fat is going to rise.......!!! They were £120-150/head up on the last sale in December........

I think that’s what will always limit the price, I personally wouldn’t sell my ewe lambs for £200 as they’re worth too much to me.

Does anyone know what the figures are for kill numbers up to date, compared to last years?

That’s very true and a bit of a dilemma.

I have probably 60 ewe lambs that were too small to tup and I was going to run as shearlings and sell prob 40 of them as I don’t really need them unless I culled ewes hard post lambing.

So flog 40 if I can get £120 quid for them now or hold till summer sakes and maybe get £130??

There’s still massive numbers of sheep laid up on roots and such like but maybe less than normal
I’m thinking the same lambs have been moved to roots and haven’t done, and on a rising trade people sit on what they’ve got! And those who did this week have earnt £14 / head on the deadweight alone
