Is the difference going from a small framed to a large framed tractor? Could make a lot of difference if you've heavy implement s to handle.

No will be the same size frame. We got a 225 on demo at the moment and its very impressive compared to any massey we've had before. Transmission is miles better than the dyna 6, comfort is another level and the cab finish is more like a car feel to it.

So why don't we all have 500hp tractors?
Due to the fact we would need to remanufacture the head stock of the hay bob to fit on to 500hp yoke with tracks!

The 8S is a massive step forward in tractor design compared to anything else on the market apart from a JCB. These are the only two playing in the same league currently in my opinion.
What is so good about those two to put them ahead of all others?

I dont think Baldrick would share your sentiment.
If I’ve learnt anything in my farming career always buy the highest hp in any range. For example a Puma 240 cvx is more sought after than a 195 cvx for example. Also JD 6215R far more sought after than a 6195R.
£3300 is nothing over the life of the tractor and the extra money over 5 years today will cost you about £100 per year in interest.

Back to the original question. i think like most extras at 5 ish years old you would got 50% of what they cost. So £1500 to £2000 when you come to sell. I don’t think 20hp on a tractor that size is going to make a big difference. You would have to jump 40 up to notice it.
