Why is it that theres hardly no claas forage wagons sold? Is there a problem with them compared to strautmann, poettinger or krone or are they just to expensive? Seems odd that they arent more popular as claases grass equipment always sold well as in harvesters mowers and rakes

Chop quality will have a part. One place I work had a strautmann and a class in side by side in the summer and ended up putting the class on youngstock grass rather than milkers grass as the chop quality was shocking in comparison and more inconsistent by a mile

Some of the pottinger Torro? Wagons don't have many knives in them 31 Ish if I remember, and no wide finger on the rotor , so can't be any better than the claas. Sales are often based on following the crowd, with customers scared to try the unknown. How are people getting along with Malone wagons? Look well built.

I think ther a mighty smart lookin wagon and parts backup should be good as our local claas dealer sells forage harvesters and is good at havin all the spares sittin. Problem is i can never see any modern second hand machines for sale

Grass chopping quality isn’t an issue , they have a very good design of a double sided knife . I had one on demo and couldn’t fault it , but for some reason they are giving some trouble , I know a contractor who was running 3 strauttman giga wagons and he bought a big class wagon about 4 years ago, he only kept it a month and sold it back to the class dealer. I didn’t hear what was wrong with it but that was the outcome . I like their features like the drop floor and drop off front unit . But I wouldn’t chance buying one.

I know nothing about wagons, but which are the preferred brands in the race? You don't see many of them around at all, though Strautman, Krone and Bergmann I have seen on the continent. They all look huge, sat on 3 axles and rather expensive.
But for a farmer doin his own grass they are a good option as more of a 1 man band operation with a man on the buckrake

I heard the drop floor was not working right , breaking or blocking . Somebody said about class making great grass machinery , their baler didnt last too long when mchale turned up.
Never seen a claas baler in action. Mostly mchale round here with an odd welger and vicon/kuhn which are basicly a deutz baler. For intake the vicon would whip the mchale

Go back 20 years ago and it was all class balers around here , I remember the local dealer had 20 new class 46 balers lined up with the name of farmers written on them with black markers .

Pottinger are market leader making about 1400 wagons a year , strautman make about 700, and the rest make a lot less .

Malone wagons are going very well, well made machines , but they don’t have the bigger models yet for contracting , great simple farmers machine.
