Looking at possibly buying our first brand new mower , currently have a Claas disco 250 , but looking at the above brands , and somewhere in the 2.8 to 3m size.
What’s people’s experience with these brands?

Krone historically cuts and conditions best. Bed is gear driven, no belts, and discs have a very simple and effective shear pin protection system. Downside is they are a bit heavier and more horse power hungry.

I've no experience of sip, but they seem to get a good name

Weve a 2.8m rear krone mower and really like it. Weve bought a tedder and rake as well over the last few years and the build quality has been really good. Good paint work and they're strong machines. We like that there's no belts with the krone as they don't slip or get hot. One thing I would advise is if you can get a centre pivot as they follow the ground much better than end pivots.

Thought the max width mounted for road transport was 3.0m ?

Trailed allows much wider, I'm not sure of the max, however an escort is needed at some point.

Thanks for the responses , looking into them more , what are people’s opinions on shaft drive , compared to belts , I have only run belts. Also most are now 1000 pto speed , any disadvantages other than higher fuel consumption ( I don’t have 1000 eco ) , also , don’t really like running the old girl at 2100 rpm much.
Thanks

1000 rpm is a lower torque than 540. Sometimes we see farmers running 1000 mowers at 540 because it’s a 6 spline pto. They use more fuel at 540! Shaft drive or belts all depends on which design you buy. Our belt drive plain heel (side) pivot disc mowers are 540 as the belt drive wouldn’t like running at 1000! The centre pivot framed models are essentially conditioner models without the conditioner so share the same drive system. All are 1000 and no issue
