Not a bad days work, they had a total of 13 for sale mixture of cows and calves and heifers and come home with around £500k, and they say there’s no money in beef.

Was told by someone who should know that very little money actually changed hands with the big money heifer........standard stuff in the “big time” world I suppose .
But both its parents - Ampertaine Elgin and Milbrook Gingerspice were bred by someone else.

I think it will do and more besides, it will be flushed and the embryos used in multiple recipients and the progeny sold on for breeding. Do that a few times and that one heifer could have 15+ calves on the ground in 12-18 months time.
I suppose it is a kind of self fulfilling prophecy as paying that price ensures that there are people who will pay a big price for the progeny just because the mother was a big price. No guarantee that she will breed mind these pedigree hfrs can be tricky especially when they are as well fed as she has been.

True, no guarantee that they come out alive either.in fact so many things can go wrong it's a massive gamble in my eyes.

I dare say she will have lots of full sibs via ET already.
I expect their recipient dams will cope just fine.
