John Deere ITC dome

Are these of any use now? I bought one 5 second hand of my dealer 5 years ago to run with an Amazone fertiliser spreader with section control. I have since bought 2 R series
John Deeres with autotrac. The first I used my ITC dome on it and the second was ordered with a 6000 dome. The 6000 is currently having the dealer software update but this is not available for the ITC dome. I believe this can work to Egnos accuracy still. I was using it today on the umbilical trailing shoe. The coverage map was working but could not set an AB line as it said not enough signal strength. Does anyone know if it can be made to work with the Egnos accuracy signal. This would be good enough for operating the fertiliser spreader at 24m in Grassland through the summer.

I have an old ITC on a gator and switched that on the other day to see what happened...100% signal 0% differential no matter which frequency I used so couldn’t get over 10% accuracy despite being on for an hour.

They are paper weight these days. They haven’t been able to be used for some time on sf1 or 2 but I believe they can still be used if upgraded to rtk. Pointless spending the money on them though.
I’ve heard the same about rtk but they’ve only just stopped working (end of jan) on sf1...not sure about sf2 as I lifted the sf2 activation off mine to put on a 6000 some time ago using the JD offer

Agreed. It’s picking up 100% signal strength but just zero differential signal. Makes you wonder if you could stumble on the correct frequency to make it work 🤔 8 digits or whatever is a fair bit of guesswork tho 😂 I wonder how long the 3000’s will be in support for...

I was told the 3000 would be supported for a long time yet. They are not that long out of production.
The itc production ended a long time ago.

don’t know numbers as I have no jd gear so didn’t listen as good as I could have.

Will still pick up the Egnos signal so not useless - perfect for chain harrowing, rolling, fert spreading that kinda thing.
I've had an ITC doing coverage the past few days when ploughing in furr, the coverage is pretty accurate so yes cant see any reason why it cant be used for autosteer when say sub 30cm accuracy is all thats required.

Ahh the autosteer is disabled for egnos - be a watch n steer job now.
