Trump acquitted.

Whoever thought the outcome would be otherwise ?
That is perfectly true but the shadow hanging over US politics will now be slower to lift and the election debate will be ongoing. I know that the impeachment was not specifically about the rumpus he caused about the election, but his behaviour has been that of a lunatic at times.

Mitch McConnell is a right gas man. After the riots, he comes out all guns blazing, and puts the responsibility right on Trump’s table. Not alone that, but he subsequently votes for impeachment. Then when the Dem’s try to get the trial up and running while Trump is still in office, McConnell frustrates and blocks that.
So Trump has to be tried after he leaves office. Then McConnell votes against sanction, as he says the trial is unconstitutional as Trump has left office. One hour later, he again calls Trump guilty as hell.
God bless America.

I seem to remember when Trump was first elected the Democrats tried everything they could to get Trump impeached because of "Russian" interference, there was no accepting the countries result then & they did everything they could to undermine Trump & get him out, if they could of they would I'm sure have included large protests outside the Senate. No great fan of Trump's utterings but the Democrats are not any better & it could easily be argued they started all this!!

But he's damned right. You cannot impeach an ex president under the US constitution. Only the hard of thinking would consider that you could. It's written down. I don't like or rate the guy but he was absolutely correct.

I suspect there will be a lot of head scratching as to what sort of amendment can written into the constitution to stop a lunatic with no experience of public office ever getting hold of the leavers of power ever again. Would need a two thirds majority, so it would still require some republicans to be brave and come out from behind the settee and vote for the amendment.

It's WE the people right? Not a club like the house of Lords.

What you are saying is that people who have no background in politics should not be allowed to run for president of the USA? Move to China. You will be happy there. Until they come for you.

They tried a lot of stupid sh!t but all they had to do was let Trump destroy himself for 4 years.
That way the Dems would have kept some dignity and wouldn't have diluted down big fake tan man's looney toon behaviour.
