Mid tier - have you been accepted?

Applied for mid tier last summer and still not heard anything.

Rang them last week and operator could see my application in the system but had no clue why I’d not heard so promised someone would call back with more details.

Amazingly they did call but were no help at all.

Is there a deadline they have to adhere to?

Won't ELMS make it superfluous ?

no stewardship still open for coupla years yet as transition...i rejected wildlfe offer in december but shall apply again this year

Elms won’t start until at least 2024, so if you join mid tier now they have promised that you can jump to Elms with no penalty

No. I think it can run in tandem sort of until elms us sorted.

2 schemes in the pipeline, accepted on one,(only last week) the other one is being worked on apparently!

key part of my application was a ruck of fencing on arable land so I can move stock across those areas to aid rotations/soil health.

Thought I’d better get that in as nit sure elms would support that.

We didn’t get confirmation of our acceptance last year till May, even though the start date was Jan 1st.

Still waiting for ours. We had a complication with parcels being not cleared out of the previous landowner's scheme so I'm not totally surprised, although they should have sorted it by now.

bloody useless.....if we were that lax we’d be fined/penalised!

Against that though for the two businesses under my supervision we had both BPS and Mid Tier payments for both existing schemes on 1 December this year, which was quite impressive.

We got our offer through back in September (30th), had until the 28th of October to accept. We have been assured we will be able to roll it into an Elms scheme once they become available without any penalty’s, time will tell though!

had a bunch of horses arrive between submitting and offer plus learnt some little 'wrinkles' post application so i thought i'd start again once i knew how much extra grass ect i needed....i was pretty much putting half the farm into it but it'll need to be slightly less now

Ours took 12 months and then they wanted to back date it to when we first applied meaning we'd fail on the first claim because nothing was in place on the ground. Told them to stuff it but they eventually backtracked and forward dated it giving us a year to sort it.

I got told on Friday that one third of the workforce either have the virus or are shielding and another third of the workforce are now pregnant!!

I was told there is still a large backlog of applications for last year to process and as for this year, unless you are in a very high priority area ( ie a water catchment area ) then there is not much point applying as they wont have the staff to even look at let alone process your application!
