No reason you can't have high prices at market and low costs/good margin but it doesn't always follow

Out of interest I was in Aldi on Friday night and had a look at the meat as I always do
I noticed that Angus mince registered sires Angus scheme all singing all dancing mince this that and the others with brass knobs on it was £6.78 per kilo and any other breed (not Angus) possibly Limmy was £7.56 per kilo
I see it all now perfectly clear

Interesting to see the auctioneer who will sell more Limmy stores than anyone has a photo of his Angus calf on face book lamenting they sell better than limmys store

Exactly this.^
Without knowing the COP was, sale prices are irrelevant.
I know a few people showing good margins from rearing AA x dairy beef on well managed grazing systems on supermarket contracts. They’re some nondescript looking cattle, but their costs are trimmed back so tight that they leave a good margin. They certainly wouldn’t be me market toppers.

Errrr I think you need to ask mr Aldi, but perhaps he bought some Angus cattle for less money than any other breed oh no limmys yes less than limmys and is selling it for less , or perhaps he’s just good at marketing who knows , who cares ? Oh yes them
That buy the Angus mince care cos it’s cheaper maybe that’s why they went into the shop hmmm

Probably shift more of it so can sell it for less?
We used to have BB,Sim,Char,Blonde an 2 Lim bulls.now we have BB,Sim,Lim an 3 AA.and I'm afraid you can see a difference in the end price.so what if there's a premium?if it pays I'll take it.
If I was selling store it might be different.
All that rear end meat for mincing .....
