Fake RSPCA people - Be careful....

I won't call them "Officers" as it gives an unjustifed aura of importance to RSPCA employees...

Had an incident over the weekend in which we had a report that 3 men were seen wandering around my land and that of a neigbours, with no permission, after parking a pickup on my land off a private lane.

I approached the men and asked them who they were and what they were doing. I told them they were trespassing and had no permission to be there. None of them wanted to engage and two headed for their vehicle and would not be photographed, but then one told me he was from the RSPCA. I asked for ID, and I was shown a card which I photographed. The man then told me that he was investigating reports of Badger Digging.... I again told him that he had no permission to be on my land, and asked if the Police had been informed regarding the allegation, and had he consulted with the Wildlife Police Officer or Rural Crime officer. He had not done so in any of those 3 cases, and in fact appeared to be unaware of their existence

I left shortly afterwards, and reported the incident to the local Police Rural Crime officer as we had reports of these men before and the whole tale did not seem straight... The RSPCA know nothing about any reports of "digging" according to the Police, and we are waiting to hear more on the vehicle etc..

But, I discussed this with a friend later who sent me this message.

"I have been speaking to a couple of mates, and apparently the anti cull activists know that the cull is more than likely going to go ahead in our area, and they are looking for excuses to find the setts, so when it happens the can send the hunt sab nutters to protect them. That truck they had is not rspca, I bet its probably linked to the hunt sabs and they are his mates"

So just be aware folks. The Police also advised me, that there have been reports of fake RSPCA attempting to take dogs off people with dubious justification...

Have these knob jockeys not got anything better to do? How do they finance the vehicles etc.
ive seen vids on YouTube they’ve put up complaining after some farmers rammed the shite out of their “sab mobile”. Comments are funny, not a lot of love for them anyway.

Well, if it is seen here again, I hope they don't drive over something sharp as they leave..... "

Local copper told me 25 years ago when they were having real poaching problems (not us happily), that the preferred method of deterrence, was to wedge a bit of match stick under 3 of the valve caps.... and then wait at the end of the lane where they had parked, as the miscreants started a long walk home :ROFLMAO:

Or just tell them to f**k off😂
the RSPCA have no right of entry, to any premises, without either being accompanied by a police officer, or with landowners permission, they can 'observe' from public foot paths. They will try to deny that, but they do know.
The RSPCA have no statutory rights of access only the police and trading standards have rights to come on to land/property to 'inspect'. Public footpaths only give people the right of pass and repass.
Incidentally the worst case of animal handling I have ever seen was by an RSPCA employee trying to deal with an injured bird of prey I had taken to their centre.

we sold our sheep in the end, an old biddy in the village would ring up the RSPCA, at the slightest limp, we were told what they can, or cant do, in the end, they just asked everything ok ? they knew there wasn't a problem, but had to respond to complaints. Worked on the theory, that one day, sods law would find something wrong !
But welfare is a problem that will only increase, what is acceptable, or normal, for farmers/vets, can easily be seen as cruelty by the public, we had a serious run in last year, with a vegan lady, and yet, RT and min vets, were perfectly happy after their immediate inspections. The min vet told us, the biggest source of complaints, are about farmers starving their cattle, strip grazing, and outwintered in appalling conditions, both would be normal ag practice. Following our experience, we have a written protocol for any sick animal, isolate, treat, no improvement after 48 hrs, discuss with vet, (phone), if no improvement after a further 48 hours, euthanise. By having that protocol, and following it, you have ticked all the boxes, and we live in a tick box culture, and you have covered yourself, legally.

Oh good!!

From a previous experience of their staff's behaviour regarding a horse that a local lass was keeping on some land near us, busybodies kept reporting the "horse was starving" to the RSPCA who kept on coming out and leaving a note, and in one case, left hay....

Eventually, the horse owner managed to speak with the RSPCA and she was told that the all horses would be taken as she was no looking after animals. The Owner pointed out that there animals were in the care of her Vet and the "starving horse" suffered with colic or laminitis or something, and was on a very strict diet and if the RSPCA employee killed her horse through mis-feeding, she would sue them.... They were not seen again. twits!

Lass moved soon after though, as she could not stand all the aggro. :(

We had the awful experience of living in an end terrace house, with neighbour leaving 4 dogs for several days unattended. We had 3 young kids in house having to listen to them bark howl fight and just make life terrible. Had lot of knocks on door from others saying we should do so the thing. Nothing we could do, rspca had already been. 2nd day woman came I went out and said those dogs should be removed. It's hot no windows open, is there any water, mentioned 5 freedoms of animals. To be told she was putting ice cubes through the letter box as well as food. And would be 72 hrs before would consider contacting police for forced entry. Which eventually happened. In the end he got 2 of the dogs back few weeks later. But few months down the line he did same again. And useless buggers did the same for 72 hrs. Was hell. But oh to have neighbours

Had some hoggs kept getting caught in brambles . Miserable old bag next door to field rang the RSPCA . The inspector asked the old bag to meet her there and show her ,she duly agreed to . On arrival the officer asked "have you attempted to pull it out" she replied " no " The officer then walked to the hogg and pulled out of the briars very simply and then gave the old bag a bollocking for wasting RSPCA time

Look, I would never recommend anyone did anything nefarious but the only defence against these sorts of people is to appear to be borderline psychotic and one of those not-really-worried-about-the-law types.

Act weird, shout and look 'dodgy'. Take lessons from an acquaintance- everyone has one, I bet even Clive knows someone like this.

Unidentified vehicles- put a screw under their tyre.
