Trouble is you and everyone else are beginning to see how good these tractors are even people that have always bought new tractors. Paris tractors have a nice black chassis new shape bonnet but it is dyna 6

I know, I passed on one last year, from a TFF member.
I can now see that it was a good buy, but it was the first Massey i had sat on, and I didn't really know what i was looking for.:facepalm::banghead:

few reasons but the electric throttle Pre-sets win it for me A & B
folks rant n rave on about 6290's & we had one but i wouldnt have another
Yes they have a nice Bark but so does my 7499
Get to a T3 6480 is the min you want too be at.
and just go for a D6 once you flick gears with that T-Bar you wont go back to using the left hand shuttle lever to do it.

Thanks for that perspective.
You appear to be correct, a tidy low hour 6290 will be in strong hands, well into 20k, and even dealers seem to offer plenty of quite reasonable facelift 6480s in low 30k.
J. Knight had a lovely 3500hr T2 6480 last year and wouldn't budge from 31.5k

New stuff is just so stupidly expensive now though isn't it.
Three of your's, or one new 77whatever; dont need to think on it for long do we?

Ok, let's include T3 6480.
Perkins fine, take your pick whether you change a pump if you get unlucky; or radiator, fan and water pump on a Sisu.. if you get similarly unlucky.
Thank you.

The 6480s seem to be good value relative to the same vintage 20 series Deeres or TM New Hollands. Is there an underlying reason for this or just that the JD and NH are valued higher as they are more commonly available and known? Which from an economics perspective is counter intuitive with their increased availability!
