A little bit more detail would be helpful.

Big push on reducing emissions, reducing nitrogen/ammonia levels by force reduction in cow numbers, talk of carbon tariffs on exports (which would harm farmgate prices) and just generally a government that isn't that farmer friendly

What he said, plus alterations to water course protection, carbon credits scheme etc etc. He said there's stock farms going for 2k an acre with suicide rates increasing due to mortgage troubles. He told my brother that he didn't think her covid plan was much cop either as they are losing no end of tourist revenue. Basically she's screwing over primary industry at a time when people are going to need jobs, any kind of jobs.

Be a big farms that will get a lot bigger. Think his mate works on Linton Station. Says the oldest Shepherd is 26. A lot of blokes getting out of ag. A lot of older farmers selling up while they've still got value in there asset. In my opinion she's like Blair. Regulate ag to its knees like the socialists did here.

Trouble is that everything is for sale in the West .. what was once owned by someone in UK/USA/NZ is then owned by a foreign Bank. Can't do the same in India, China & Russia.

Lookee here ... and weep.

Yeah right

Only incredibly so ,considering New Zealand's Ag. Output is absolutely fundamental to its economy, existence even
In the humble behind the times simplistic opinion I have of it anyway

Still. They will deal with it, just have to lower their costs :sneaky:

Product carbon footprint goes downhill fast with everything exported by ship does it?
Its Not quite like that.

A big ship chugging along with thousands of tons will I bet be cheaper to run than the lorries that transport to and from the ports.

Definitely cheaper than running little stock boxes behind little jap pick ups or half a lorry load of corn on a grain trailer and tractor.

But thats not the point I was making above.
